Robert Sedgwick, Broker In Charge

Originally from Newport News, VA, Rob Sedgwick learned about Hilton Head Island from his College of William & Mary friends who moved here to sell real estate. Rob studied Economics at the College of William & Mary (Williamsburg, VA), and Religion at University of Florida (Gainesville, FL).

In 1992, Rob moved to Hilton Head after working for a nationwide furniture retail store chain and then as a Registered Investment Advisor and a General Manager for an Investment Fund at the Chicago Board of Trade. Rob worked for Marriott’s Grande Ocean Resort in sales for 4 years before joining the Developer Sales Team at Colleton River Realty in 1996. He also owned and operated the Bluffton Phone Directory from 1996-2005 as Publisher/CEO. He next joined forces with Carson Realty in 2007 offering general realty services.

In the summer of 2013, Rob discovered Hilton Head Lakes, and fell in love with the community. “As people are seeking affordable lifestyle communities, HH LAKES has it all; perfect location, wonderful amenities such as Fitness Facilities, swimming, nature/hiking trails, golf for $26-$32 including cart, Boat & RV Storage, boatable lake for small, low powered boats and kayaks and fully stocked for great fishing. Homesites from $54,990, Homes from $279,000-$550,000, POA Dues of $139/mo. covering all amenities,” according to Rob.

Hilton Head Lakes sold a major section of it’s development to Minto Communities, which is currently developing Latitude Margaritaville. There is still a Hidden Gem within Latitude Margaritaville that Rob’s calls the “Best Kept Secret” in the area. It is a section for only 200 homes, but they will be Custom Homes, and you purchase a Homesite and sit on it as long as you wish. The homesites are wide and large; 0.22-.067 acre, 70′-180′ wide. This is ample space between homes in this exclusive section of Latitude Margaritaville known as “Latitude Lakes.”

In November, 2018, the next chapter began. After 27 years in the real estate business working for other firms, Rob decided to open his own Realty Company to serve clients seeking to find a home or homesite, OR list and sell their home or homesite anywhere in the Greater Hilton Head, Bluffton, Palmetto Bluff, Okatie and Hardeeville areas.

Rob has years of experience and has been a designated “Specialist” at Colleton River, but also has expertise at Hilton Head Lakes, Latitude Lakes in Latitude Margaritaville, Hampton Hall, Pinecrest, Windmill Harbour, Palmetto Hall, South Forest Beach, and more.

Rob is a member of the MLS of Hilton Head Island, and a SC Real Estate Broker.

marisa whisel, realtor

When she is not busy landing deals for her clients, you can find Marisa singing four-part a capella harmonies with the Hilton Head Shore Notes. Singing is how Marisa unwinds after a long week working hard for her clients — and that is not just a cop-out. Marisa has dedicated his life to helping his clients achieve their real estate goals.

Marisa was born in Minnesota with three siblings. She was taught at a young age that if you want something in life, you have to work for it. So, that is what she did; she focused through the long and hard work. (But that is not to say she didn’t have fun along the way.)

Marisa knew in her heart that she really wanted to work for herself, and real estate was always at the back of her mind. Both her mother and grandmother were REALTORS. Marisa initially got into the real estate industry sixteen  years ago when her family moved to Tennessee. . New to the area, she dove in head first and learned everything she possibly could about the industry. Marisa quickly adapted to the local market and quickly became one of the leading agents in her office.

As the wife of an Air Force officer, Marisa was accustomed to moving when duty called. She found herself re-starting her business in a new city several times. Each time she moved, Marisa  applied everything she had learned in her previous market to her new one. She became an expert in helping military families sell their homes quickly so they could move on to their next location (not to mention becoming an expert at buying and selling her own homes)! Consequently, all of this knowledge translates to helping ALL homeowners sell quickly so they can move on to their next destination, whether  across the country or simply across town.

Four years ago Marisa settled in beautiful Bluffton, SC and currently resides there with her dog, Misty, and her two  children (when they are not off at college).

Marisa joined the Community Marketing team in September of 2019 as a buyer and seller agent after working in New Home Sales for one of the large national builders in the area. That experience helped her develop her expertise in the Bluffton home market and the amazing growth that has happened along the 170 corridor – Sun City, Mill Creek/Cypress Ridge, Hampton Lake, and the New Riverside Communities of Heritage, Alston Park, The Landings, The Haven, etc. She also has a passion for Callawassie Island and the outstanding value that can be found on what could labeled as one of the area’s “Best Kept Secrets”. You should definitely give her a call if you would like to learn more about the Callawassie Island lifestyle.

Marisa aims to provide the highest level of service to her clients and takes deep pride in helping them achieve their real estate goals.
